» Hannah Trebec was born and raised in former East Germany.

» She received silver and bronze medals at county and state competitions and placed 5th in a national triathlon that included rifle shooting. In 1987 the East German Society of Sports and Technique recognized her dedication.

» The author graduated from technical school and holds a degree in law enforcement.

» Hannah Trebec moved to the United States in 1992.

» She speaks three languages.
